New EGEA4 follow-upLogo Cohorte EGEA

The EGEA research program has provided essential information to better understand the role of environmental, lifestyle and genetic factors in the development or progression of respiratory and allergic diseases. But new research questions have arisen, particularly around the links between respiratory health and other diseases or health conditions, including cardiovascular health, that can only be addressed by longitudinal studies over several decades. The EGEA cohort is one of the few cohorts in the world that offers the opportunity to provide answers to these new questions. Thus, all EGEA participants will soon be invited to pursue their contribution to this research by participating in a new follow-up study: this is the 4th phase of the study, 30 years after the beginning of EGEA.
The study has been approved by the Comité de Protection des Personnes Sud-Méditerranée IV (CPP, n°2022-A02312-41) and by the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL, n° 923025). The first phase of this new EGEA4 follow-up, consisting of a short questionnaire, has begun for the Grenoble center, and the other centers will soon follow. Then, in a second phase, participants will be invited to one of the hospital centers to undergo a clinical examination, which will be very similar to that of the previous study phases, and to answer a questionnaire.
